Samantha Palmeri (b. 1973, Staten Island, New York) received her BFA from The School of Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in New York and New Jersey. She is the recipient of several awards and grants, notably an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, and an Original Work Grant from the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island. Over the years Ms. Palmeri has curated solo and group exhibitions for different organizations and galleries. She is the founder of an interdisciplinary artist group called The Intersection, and was the owner and director of two contemporary art galleries, Catherine Street Gallery in Staten Island, NY, and The Art House in Manahawkin NJ. Ms. Palmeri lives and works in Beacon, New York. She is the former Director of Beacon Open Studios, a sponsored project of Beacon Arts, and currently is the Exhibitions Coordinator for Garrison Art Center in Garrison, New York.
